Léa Fachinan scores as Clermont wins 3-1 for second consecutive victory

Béninese forward Léa Fachinan scored on Sunday, September 20, during Clermont Foot’s 3-1 victory over ESTAC Troyes in the second round of Group B of the French women’s D3. The Auvergne club thus secured its second win in as many league matches.

Fachinan was one of three scorers for Clermont, alongside Méline Gondol and Mélody Lapierre. Troyes narrowed the gap with a penalty from Solène Wittmann, but could not prevent the visitors from taking all three points.

A week earlier, Clermont had kicked off its season with a 1-0 win against Montauban, thanks to a goal from Méline Gondol. After two rounds, the Clermont players have accumulated six points.

Having arrived in French football in 2022 after leaving Aïnonvi FC for Tarascon, Léa Fachinan has been with Clermont since July 2023. At 25 years old, the Béninese forward is part of the women’s squad at the Auvergne club.

The goal scored in Troyes marks Fachinan’s first in the 2026-2027 season, following a first match in which she did not score.
