“I can’t stand this violence anymore, enough is enough, I am nothing to Ned Nwoko,” Regina Daniels, in tears
The Nigerian actress Regina Daniels, in tears in a video that went viral, denounces the abuse she says she has suffered within her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko. In a cry of distress, the young mother of two says she no longer feels safe and declares that she is “nothing” in her household.
A distressing video of Regina Daniels, one of Nollywood’s most popular actresses, has been circulating on social media for a few hours. In tears, the senator’s fourth wife expresses her distress over the abuse she says she has been enduring for several months. “Enough is enough, I can’t take this violence anymore, I’m nothing in Ned Nwoko’s home,” Regina sobbed, she repeats, visibly exhausted and disoriented.
Around her, several women try to calm her. One offers her a glass of water, another pours water over her head to help her regain her senses. Despite their efforts, Regina continues to cry out her despair, saying that in her husband’s house she means nothing, unlike with her family where she feels “like a queen”.
According to Stanley On-Top, a film producer close to the couple, the actress was reportedly attacked during the night by men suspected of being thugs sent by the senator. “Fortunately, her brothers were there to defend her”, he said as he shared the video on his social media.
These allegations have sent shockwaves across Nigeria and beyond. Many fans and women’s rights advocates are demanding that the facts be brought to light. All fear for the safety of the 24-year-old actress.
