Four races, four victories: Beaugrand regains triathlon world title
The French athlete secured her second world title on Saturday in Pontevedra, two years after her first victory and one year after her withdrawal during the 2025 final.
Cassandre Beaugrand claimed her second short-distance triathlon world championship title on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Pontevedra. The French athlete secured her position at the top of the overall standings during the final of the World Triathlon Championship Series.
The 29-year-old triathlete entered the race with a perfect total of 4,000 points, achieved through four victories in as many events this season. This consistency allowed her to reclaim a crown she first won in 2024.
Beaugrand had lost the 2025 title after withdrawing during the running segment of the final in Wollongong, Australia. German athlete Lisa Tertsch had then succeeded her in the rankings.
Her first world title, won in Torremolinos in October 2024, had extended her Olympic triumph at the Paris Games. She became the first French woman to win a world championship on the WTCS circuit.
