Defamation between former ministers: the Adambi-Akponna case postponed again
The Tribunal d’Abomey-Calavi held a new hearing on Wednesday in the defamation case between former ministers Samou Seidou Adambi and Paulin Akponna.

Once again, the substance of the case could not be examined. The case has been adjourned to another hearing.
Both protagonists were notably absent from the dock, represented by their respective lawyers. After a brief session, the judge decided to adjourn the case until November 5, 2025, for the continuation of the proceedings.
This adjournment is not the first. At the hearing on July 16, 2025, the case had already been adjourned to allow the plaintiff, Samou Seidou Adambi, to pay a deposit of 300,000 francs CFA before October 21, a condition essential to continuing the trial.
With this new postponement, the case continues to get bogged down in judicial delays, leaving in limbo a dispute between two well-known figures of the Beninese political scene, both members of the Bloc Républicain party.
