Carragher: «Salah has surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in the Premier League»
As Mohamed Salah is about to leave Liverpool, Jamie Carragher reignites the debate by placing him ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Premier League, arguing that only Thierry Henry remains superior to him among foreign attackers.

The move is explosive. The former Liverpool FC star, Jamie Carragher, did not hesitate to place Mohamed Salah at the top of the hierarchy of foreign attackers who have scored in the Premier League. In a column published by The Telegraph, the former defender believes that only Thierry Henry can rival the Egyptian international in the history of the English league. “In the pantheon of foreign strikers in England, only Thierry Henry surpasses Salah,” he wrote.
Carragher also dismisses comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp, and Eric Cantona, emphasizing the Egyptian’s consistency and extraordinary impact. “Ronaldo’s best years were mostly at Real Madrid. If we focus only on the Premier League, Salah slightly edges him in terms of performances and influence,” he says.
Arrived in 2017 from AS Roma, Salah piled up statistics with Liverpool: 189 goals and 92 assists, the highest total in the Premier League over that period. A longevity and consistency that today fuel an already heated debate about his place among the greatest.
