Cameroon is entering the final stretch before CAN 2025 in a rather turbulent atmosphere. With just over three weeks until the tournament’s kick-off, the Cameroonian Football Federation announced Monday evening the sidelining of Marc Brys, coach of the Indomitable Lions since 2024.

The decision came as preparations were about to enter their final phase. The Belgian coach will ultimately not lead the Cameroonian national team to Morocco. FECAFOOT formalized his departure and at the same time confirmed the appointment of David Pagou to serve as interim and lead the team during the competition.

This sudden change comes at the very moment the list of players selected to compete in the CAN was announced. The new coach will therefore have to work with an already established group and try to quickly put his stamp on the team in an inevitably delicate context.
