The Constitutional Court officially has a new Secretary-General. Magistrate Romuald Irotori was sworn in on Thursday, June 5, 2025, during a plenary session presided over by Professor Dorothée Sossa, president of the high court.
During this solemn ceremony, Romuald Irotori committed to performing his duties “with loyalty and fidelity,” to scrupulously respect the obligations arising from them, and to preserve the confidentiality of deliberations, even after the end of his term.
Speaking, the president of the Court, Dorothée Sossa, reminded the appointee of the importance of his responsibilities. He invited him to demonstrate expertise and rigor in carrying out his duties, while reassuring him about the independence guaranteed by law.
“You must demonstrate your sense of responsibility,” he emphasized, while offering him advice filled with wisdom.
The appointment of Romuald Irotori was formalized by Presidential Decree No. 2025-236 dated May 7, 2025, signed by the Head of State, Patrice Talon. This decree was read in public session during the installation hearing.
