According to information reported by Le Potentiel, the social outcasts appeared in the night, immediately firing into the air to create panic among the residents present. The owner of the store, caught off guard, was violently attacked with a machete, suffering a severe arm injury.

Under threat, the victim had no choice but to hand over the 40,000 CFA francs he had on him. On the criminals’ orders, he was also forced to show them the location of the cash box containing about 110,000 CFA francs, which the robbers quickly took.

Before fleeing, the individuals also injured other people present, although the exact number is not specified.

The police were alerted and an investigation has been opened to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this attack. The climate of insecurity in some rural localities remains a major concern for the population, who are calling for an increase in police presence.
