The toll is particularly heavy: 31 people arrested, five crime hotspots dismantled, as well as significant seizures of drugs and stolen goods.

Among the most notable cases was an extraordinary scam. A cattleman was arrested for selling 58 oxen belonging to his employer, pocketing 14 million CFA francs in the process.

The suspect then allegedly handed the entire sum to a fake marabout, convinced by the latter that he could multiply his money and turn it into 800 million CFA francs.

The cattleman and his marabout accomplice were both apprehended by law enforcement. They will be presented in the coming days to the Public Prosecutor to answer for their actions.

This large-scale operation confirms the determination of the republican police to strengthen public safety in the Godomey district and to combat the resurgence of criminal activity.
