The matter is currently being closely monitored by the authorities, with the Datori district police station in charge of the investigation.

According to information from La Nouvelle Tribune, it was the student’s father, a ninth-grade student, who took the initiative to alert the police. He showed up at the police station with his son, bringing with him a complete computer, consisting of a screen, a keyboard, a headset, and a mouse, asserting that he found the suspicious equipment in the young boy’s belongings.

During his hearing, the student admitted to receiving these devices during a night out with a friend. Near the computer room, they allegedly encountered two other students handling stolen equipment. These individuals offered them some of the loot, which they accepted in exchange for their silence.

The investigation was able to track down the burglars, especially after an attempt to resell the stolen items. This transaction caught the attention of witnesses, who alerted the authorities.

A Judicial Procedure Underway

Informed of the facts, the prosecutor’s office of the Natitingou Court of First Instance ordered the minor suspected of receiving stolen goods to be held in custody. The alleged burglars, identified by investigators, are actively being sought.

The police assure that the investigation is ongoing and promise to shed light on this targeted theft that affects an essential equipment for the digital training of students at the CEG of Kountori.
