Ballon d’Or 2026: Harry Kane ranks among the favorites
As the 2026 World Cup approaches, Harry Kane is clearly showing his individual ambitions. The captain of England believes that he, Michael Olise, and several players from PSG are among the main favorites for the Ballon d’Or.

Harry Kane has not hidden his ambitions. The Bayern Munich forward believes he is one of the main candidates for the Ballon d’Or 2026 and also considers his teammate Michael Olise a serious contender for the top individual award. The England international also emphasized the importance of team performances in the race for the trophy, notably citing players from Paris Saint-Germain, recent Champions League winners, among his main rivals.
For the captain of the Three Lions, the outcome of the 2026 World Cup could be decisive in awarding the Ballon d’Or. “I am clearly one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or,” Kane stated. “If England wins the World Cup, it is entirely possible that an English player will take the award. (…) Among the favorites, there is obviously me, Michael Olise, but also several players who have shone in the Champions League.”
The Bavarian striker also humorously noted that the ceremony will be held in London this year. “I saw that the ceremony would take place in London. It might be a positive sign. Winning this trophy in my hometown would make the moment even more special,” he confided. With just days to go before the World Cup, Kane is therefore expressing his ambitions, determined to turn his individual and collective performances into a first Ballon d’Or.
