AFCON 2025 : Davido to headline the opening concert in Rabat
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido will be one of the main attractions of the inaugural show of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for Saturday at the Fan Zone d’Olm Souissi, ahead of the opening match between Morocco and Comoros.
According to the Daily Post, the Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido will be one of the main attractions of the official opening concert for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The artist will be joined on stage by several other headliners, including French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z and Lartiste, for a show billed as one of the festive highlights of the tournament launch.
The concert will take place Saturday at the Fan Zone d’Olm Souissi in Rabat, and access will be strictly limited to supporters holding a supporter card and a ticket for the opening match. A regular at major international events, Davido is no stranger to appearing at big football occasions.
The Nigerian singer has previously performed at the opening ceremony of AFCON 2017, at the 2022 World Cup draw in Doha, and at the PFA Awards ceremony in 2023. AFCON 2025 will officially open on Sunday with the inaugural fixture between host nation Morocco and the Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat.
