AFCON 2025: CAF unveils the tournament’s official schedule

The CAF unveiled the full schedule for CAN 2025 this Tuesday. The African tournament will take place in Morocco, from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

We now know the official schedule for CAN 2025. The tournament’s full program was released this Tuesday by CAF on its official channels. The opening match will pit the host country against Comoros in Rabat, setting the tone for a competition that promises spectacle and intensity.

The continent’s major nations — Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria, Ivory Coast or Cameroon — will be present, ready to battle it out in a highly competitive group stage. From the opening days, clashes like Nigeria–Tunisia, Cameroon–Ivory Coast, Morocco–Mali or DR Congo–Benin will electrify the stadiums in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Fez, Agadir and Tangier.

At the end of the group stage, the qualifying teams will advance to the round of 16, scheduled from 3 January 2026. The quarter-finals will be played on 9 January, the semi-finals on 14 January, the third-place match on 17 January, before the big final set for 18 January.
