The Finance and Trade Commission, strategic for the analysis of the State budget and economic policies, is led by Gérard Gbenonchi.
The Planning, Equipment and Production Commission is placed under the presidency of Joseph Amavi Anani, while Éléonore Yayi Ladékan takes the helm of the Education, Culture, Employment and Social Affairs Commission.
The Commission on External Relations, Development Cooperation, Defense and Security will, for its part, be led by Augustin Ahouanvoebla.
In accordance with the National Assembly’s internal rules, each standing committee is composed of at least thirteen deputies and has a five-member bureau, guaranteeing its internal functioning. Moreover, the two parliamentary groups have also been confirmed.
Aké Natondé retains the presidency of the Union Progressiste le Renouveau (UP-R) group, while Assan Seïbou remains at the head of the Bloc Républicain (BR) group.
The deputies are convened this Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Palace of Governors in Porto-Novo to carry out the formal formation of the commissions and parliamentary groups, the final step before the 10th legislature’s substantive legislative work begins.
