This decision thus confirms the ruling of the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA), which invalidated the opposition party’s candidate for lack of documents.

The LD party challenged certain CENA decisions related to the organization of the vote, but the high court found the appeal unfounded and held that it did not call into question the legality of the electoral process.

This decision of the administrative court strengthens the legitimacy of CENA’s decisions, which approved three candidate lists for the upcoming municipal elections. Boni Yayi’s party is therefore definitively excluded from these elections.
