La Liga: back in Seville, Akor Adams already decisive
Back from AFCON 2025, Akor Adams made a big impact by signing a decisive brace that helped Sevilla FC snatch a 2-2 draw at Elche’s stadium and keep up the fight to stay in La Liga.

Back from AFCON, Akor Adams did not delay in reminding Sevilla supporters of his prowess. The Super Eagles’ striker signed a decisive brace on Monday night, enabling Sevilla FC to clinch a dramatic 2-2 draw at Elche in La Liga.
Coming on at the start of the second half in place of Gerard Fernández, the Nigerian immediately energized the Andalusian attack. In just 25 minutes, he completely changed the face of the match. Adams first reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, before equalizing near the end of the match with a powerful penalty into the top corner, two minutes into stoppage time.
With five goals and two assists in 15 league appearances, the centre-forward confirms his rise this season. A momentum already glimpsed during AFCON 2025, where he starred with two goals and two assists in seven matches, contributing to the Super Eagles’ bronze-medal campaign after their shootout victory against Egypt. This valuable point keeps Sevilla at a safe distance from the relegation zone and preserves their hopes of staying up.
