Ella Langley surpasses Mariah Carey with 23 weeks at the top of the Hot 100
With "Choosin’ Texas," the country singer has achieved the longest run at the top of the U.S. chart at 23 weeks, surpassing "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
With “Choosin’ Texas,” Ella Langley has extended her time at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 to 23 weeks. The country singer surpasses the previous record of 22 weeks held by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Released in October 2025, the track reached the number one spot on the U.S. chart in February 2026. As of Wednesday, September 23, it has become the song with the most weeks accumulated at the top of the Hot 100, which measures sales, streaming, and radio airplay in the United States.
The achievement goes beyond just the weekly chart. According to data from Luminate cited by the Associated Press, “Choosin’ Texas” had amassed 911 million on-demand streams in the U.S. and 1.26 billion globally by mid-August.
Ella Langley co-wrote the song with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. The track is featured on “Dandelion,” her second album, which also topped the U.S. charts in the spring of 2026.
