This official trip follows the honor invitation from his Mauritanian counterpart, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, according to a statement from the presidency of the Republic of Benin.

The meeting between the two statesmen will be marked by an exclusive tête-à-tête between the two leaders. This summit conversation will be entirely devoted to strengthening the historical ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation that unite Cotonou and Nouakchott.

The key discussions will focus on the priority areas of the strategic partnership, as well as the examination of various regional issues of common interest.

This significant visit aligns with the determined diplomatic dynamic initiated by the Beninese Head of State. It reflects his desire to maintain a sustained, permanent, and high-level dialogue with his partners on the continent.

The overall goal remains the promotion of a concerted African action in response to contemporary challenges related to development, strengthening security, and regional integration in West Africa and the Sahel-Saharan region.

At the end of this important bilateral exchange, a joint statement will be made public to sanction the work and detail the main conclusions of this presidential mission.
