A huge loss for the world of football which has paid a great tribute to the sadly departed. On social networks, Pepe also reacted to the death of the 28-year-old player. And the Portuguese defender regretted the premature departure of his young brother.
“A premature and painful loss that leaves us all poorer. I offer to his family, friends and all those who loved them, my deepest condolences,” he posted.
Diogo Jota’s former club, FC Porto, also expressed its sorrow. “The Porto football club is in mourning. It is with shock and deep regret that we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, who was also our athlete in the youth categories. Rest in peace,” the Portuguese team wrote on its X account.
The other Portuguese club, Sporting CP, also offered “its condolences for the death of Portuguese international Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.”
