Collision between 2 trucks in Bohicon: one dead and two injured

- Publicité-

A traffic accident of rare violence occurred this morning on the Bohicon-Dassa axis, a strategic stretch of road in central Benin.

Two trucks collided in as yet unsolved circumstances, causing the death of one person and seriously injuring two others, according to information reported by Le Matinal.

The sheer scale of the accident was testimony to the brutality of the impact, and caused extensive material damage. By the time emergency services arrived, one person had already succumbed to his injuries, while two other seriously injured victims were rushed to hospital for intensive care.

The Bohicon-Dassa axis is regularly used by heavy goods vehicles, making it a high-risk area for road users. This tragedy has once again rekindled the debate on road safety, the need for better regulation of truck traffic and the observance of precautionary measures.
