Inter Milan head to Spain this Wednesday to face Barcelona in a high-stakes Champions League clash. Though the odds are stacked against the Italian side, head coach Simone Inzaghi made it clear his team has no intention of going down without a fight.
The second semifinal first leg of this year’s Champions League sees Inter Milan take on Barcelona in a match that promises fireworks between two European heavyweights.
The Rossoneri arrive at the Camp Nou in shaky form, having suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions. In stark contrast, Barça are on an incredible run, having just defeated Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final and looking poised for a historic treble.
Despite the momentum clearly favoring the Catalans, Simone Inzaghi struck a defiant tone in his pre-match press conference.
“My opinion of Barça? Hansi Flick is a great coach who’s brought structure to an already very attacking team. They’ve built something special over time, with many players coming through the youth academy. They’ve scored over 150 goals this season—it’s remarkable,” he said.
“We have the utmost respect for them, but no fear. The Champions League is filled with strong opponents and fierce competition, and we want to play this semifinal the way the ‘real’ Inter would,” Inzaghi added.
The stage is set for a titanic showdown.
