Benin: HCPC launches nationwide campaign against electoral fraud
The High Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (HCPC) announced on Thursday, November 6, 2025 the launch of a new awareness campaign titled “Selling your vote is selling your future”, which will be conducted nationwide from Monday, November 10 to Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The HCPC says this campaign forms part of a targeted prevention effort against electoral corruption and fraud, and that it will cover all departments of the country.
Administrative officials, opinion leaders, civil society representatives, as well as women’s groups, artisans, youth groups, and educational institutions (primary schools, secondary schools and universities) will be mobilized.
At a press briefing held at the institution’s headquarters in Cotonou, High Commissioner Jacques Migan emphasized that this second phase strengthens the initiative’s community grounding, with the aim of “guaranteeing the transparency, fairness and credibility of the 2026 general elections”.
The initiative sends a strong signal from the State to electoral actors and citizens, at a pivotal moment as preparations for the municipal, legislative and presidential elections accelerate.
