Benin: death of Reverend Pastor Agossou Michel Ahouyahédé, founder of the Holy Church of Israel
The Reverend Founding Pastor of the Église Sainte d’Israël, Agossou Michel Ahouyahede, died on November 21, 2025 in his 82nd year.
SUMMARY
The Église Sainte d’Israël loses one of its most illustrious builders. A respected spiritual guide and a man of faith with an exemplary life, Reverend Agossou Michel Ahouyahede is no more. The man of God died last Friday. During his lifetime, the Reverend wished that his passing would not be a cause of desolation but of gratitude toward God. He affirmed that “everything is God’s work.”
According to the official program released by the Church and the family, the funeral rites begin this Tuesday, November 25, 2025 with a vigil with performances at the Agboto sports field, followed by testimonies and choir performances from Avrankou and Gbéyame. On Wednesday, November 26, the removal of the body is scheduled for 7:00 a.m., followed by public viewing, then the burial service according to the rites of the Église Sainte d’Israël from 10:00 a.m.
A final tribute
The program for the burial service, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on the same site, will involve several appointed church leaders to accompany the ceremony. The bearers of the cross, the censer and the holy water vessel, the prayer leaders, the readers and the preachers have been officially named to pay tribute to the founder. The day’s message will be delivered by Pastor Lachimi Patrice, before the final blessing.
Tributes will continue on Friday, November 28, 2025 in Hounnohoué, during a second service led by Super Evangelist Wolly Somonyede Émile. Prayer, preaching, blessing and musical moments performed by the choirs El-Béracca d’Adjara Hounhouékô, Jéhovah Nissi and Adjinnan-Drogbo will mark this great ceremony of faith.
