Benin: Dassa-Zoumè hosts the second phase of the “Community Police Month”
The Republican Police launched the second phase of Community Police Month on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Dassa-Zoumè.

This national campaign, launched to bring law enforcement closer to the population, is part of a participatory security dynamic in which every citizen is invited to become an active participant in peace and prevention.
After a first phase deemed successful in Cotonou and Porto-Novo, the mobilization is now expanding to several inland municipalities, notably Djougou, Bembèrèkè, Parakou, Natitingou and Kandi. Motorcycle taxi drivers and drivers of public transport vehicles are among the main targets of this new phase because of their strategic role in the flow of security information.
Through awareness-raising and training sessions, the campaign aims to strengthen understanding of the principles and values of community policing, to promote respect for traffic laws and to encourage accident prevention.
It also aims to instill in drivers the proper responses to security threats and to clarify their responsibilities toward passengers.
For the Republican Police, this approach reflects a desire to build a lasting synergy between law enforcement and the population. By directly involving citizens in the production of security, Community Police Month aims to strengthen mutual trust and make every Beninese an essential link in national stability.
