Benin: Anagem officially announces the reduction of fees in urban and regional markets
Following the decision made in the Council of Ministers on July 1, 2026, to reduce the charges on users of market infrastructures, the National Market Management Agency (Anagem) has made public the new monthly pricing schedules.

SUMMARY
This relief applies to all commercial spaces in urban and regional markets, specifically including major commercial hubs such as Tokpa Yôyô and the agro-food hub of Tokpa Daho.
A concrete response to the expectations of traders
This pricing reform is a direct response to the concerns and grievances expressed by sector stakeholders. By reducing these costs, the government and Anagem aim to primarily enhance the financial accessibility of these modern infrastructures. The objective is twofold:
- Encourage the full occupancy of available stalls and spaces by traders;
- Ensure the sustainability and maintenance of these new commercial gems through strategic adjustments and an increase in direct state subsidies.
This social support measure thus helps sustain the purchasing power of operators while boosting local economic activity within the country’s new modern markets.
