According to the Republican Police’s Facebook page, these actions made it possible, within two weeks, to dismantle several networks specialized in the theft and fencing of motorcycles as well as cattle.

Among the notable incidents, an operation carried out in Owodé, in the Ouémé department, led to the arrest of a group of individuals involved in the theft of seventeen (17) cattle in Wannou, in the Manigri arrondissement.

The animals were found and returned to their owners. The alleged perpetrators were brought before the public prosecutor before being placed in pretrial detention.

Other round-ups were recorded at the end of October. In the village of Aoro, officers arrested two criminals who had stolen a Haojue Express motorcycle from the Akpassa market.

In Manigri, a search led to the discovery at a suspect’s home of three “motos dames” and two Bajaj motorcycles, all of dubious origin.

These interventions, welcomed by the population, illustrate the Republican Police’s determination to guarantee the safety of people and property. In Bassila as elsewhere, the message is clear: impunity is receding in the face of law enforcement’s vigilance.
