After a standout season with Angers, Ivorian goalkeeper Yahia Fofana may be on his way out this summer, with several European clubs reportedly showing interest in the Elephants’ shot-stopper.

Despite a few tense moments, Angers has secured its place in Ligue 1 for next season. Currently sitting 13th in the table and just three points away from European qualification with five matches remaining, the club is enjoying a remarkable run—thanks in large part to the heroics of Fofana. The Ivorian has been crucial in key matches and has established himself as a pillar of the team.

According to L’Équipe, clubs like Newcastle, Southampton, Torino, and a top-five Ligue 1 side—whose identity remains undisclosed—have inquired about the 24-year-old in recent weeks.

Angers, for its part, is already anticipating a profitable transfer. The Ligue 1 outfit hopes to secure between 5 and 7 billion CFA francs (roughly €7.6 to €10.7 million) for a player they signed on a free transfer. A deal to watch closely this summer.
