Nigeria is gearing up to face South Africa this Thursday in the semifinals of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, and the Flying Eagles are already showing confidence. Goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt believes his team is destined for the final.

The highly anticipated match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia. This will be the fourth time the two nations meet in the final stages of the tournament. With six U20 AFCON titles under their belt, Nigeria enters the match as slight favorites against a South African side that knocked out DR Congo in the quarterfinals.

Speaking to local media, Harcourt, who plays for Sporting Lagos, acknowledged the challenge posed by the Bafana Bafana but made it clear that Nigeria’s focus is firmly set on the trophy.

“Our main goal is the title. I’m confident we will win it. We’re going to prepare well for the match against South Africa,” he said.

“They’re a good team, no doubt—but we’ve got a strong squad here, and we’ll give everything to win,” Harcourt added.
