Ruby Rose rules out a return to Hollywood despite her television comeback

Ruby Rose insists that her participation in the upcoming season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test does not signify her return to Hollywood. The Australian actress states that she is no longer interested in the industry and is still considering a return to Australia.

In an interview with People during the show’s presentation, Ruby Rose explained that she is not sure if she is “really back.” At 40, she believes that the entertainment world is probably no longer for her, adding, “They don’t want me either.”

According to her own account, the former star of Batwoman has received only one truly significant script in the past three years. She notes that she is experiencing this scarcity of offers without bitterness.

Her appearance in the fifth season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test is nonetheless a notable television comeback. The Fox program features fifteen personalities subjected to challenges inspired by military training in the Malaysian jungle. The broadcast is set to begin on September 24, 2026.

Ruby Rose describes this experience as healing. The filming even led her to briefly consider staying in the United States before she leaned back towards returning to Australia.

Gaining international recognition in Orange Is the New Black, she portrayed Kate Kane in the first season of Batwoman before leaving the series. Her last film role was in the action movie Dirty Angels, released in 2024.
