Presidential election 2025 in Ivory Coast: Tidjane Thiam officially renounces his French nationality

According to the decree of March 19, 2025, signed by French Prime Minister François Bayrou, it states:
“Art. 2: Are released from their allegiance to France the French whose names follow: Thiam (Cheick, Tidjane), born 29/07/1962 in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) LIB, 2025 X 002699, dep. 99, Dt.009/8.”
This decision is part of his candidacy for the Ivorian presidential election scheduled for October 25.
