With a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal defeated Germany (2-1) Wednesday night in the Nations League semi-final. A deserved success for the Seleçao who move on to the final.
The Portuguese captain scored his 137th international goal, securing victory for his team and booking their spot in the final, set for Sunday in Munich.
The Germans had opened the scoring in the 48th minute thanks to Florian Wirtz, who headed in a precise cross from Joshua Kimmich. But the changes made by Roberto Martínez quickly paid off.
Substitute Francisco Conceição leveled the score with a superb curling shot in the 63rd minute. Five minutes later, Ronaldo struck to convert a low cross from Nuno Mendes.
With this goal, the Al-Nassr star becomes the top scorer in a single edition of Nations League A, with seven goals, surpassing Romelu Lukaku and Ferran Torres (6 goals each in 2021-2022).
Portugal, already crowned in the first edition in 2019, will face the winner of the France-Spain clash in the final.
