In a letter dated 23rd June 2025 and registered at the party’s headquarters the following day, he submitted his resignation to the party’s political leader, Jacques Ayadji.

In his letter, the former member of the political bureau cites “personal reasons” for his withdrawal, while taking care to express his gratitude towards the party that saw his first steps in militant commitment.

“I reassert to you and to all the militants my gratitude for allowing me to take my first steps in the political arena,” he writes, applauding the “patriotic values” that he believes have always been at the core of the MOELE-Benin’s actions.

A founding member of this party, which is linked with the presidential group, Ulrich Dehou seems to have nurtured the hope of continuing his commitment within this structure. However, he states today that he can no longer continue to campaign within it, despite the respect he continues to have for the ideals that guided him.

His journey within the party is noteworthy: beyond his current roles, he was involved in the organization of the January 2023 legislative elections, as a member of the national campaign management. A ground commitment that he only briefly mentions in his departure letter, without providing any details about the internal circumstances of his decision.
