Miss Universe 2025: executive director fired after a scandal with Miss Mexico
The leadership of Miss Univers took a firm decision after a scandal in Thailand: executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil was removed from the 2025 competition for publicly insulting Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch.
Nawat Itsaragrisil, executive director of the Miss Univers organization, was ousted from the 2025 competition following an incident that sparked a heated controversy. According to the Daily Post, the Thai businessman allegedly publicly humiliated Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, during a preliminary event held in Thailand, accusing her of ‘stupidity’ for not posting promotional content on her social media accounts.
Shocked by remarks deemed ‘disrespectful and denigrating,’ the Mexican representative left the room, soon followed by several contestants from other countries as a sign of solidarity. Faced with the controversy, the president of Miss Univers, Raúl Rocha, announced on Instagram the immediate suspension of Nawat Itsaragrisil. “I am banning Nawat from participating in the events of the 74th Miss Univers competition. I will not tolerate any violation of the values of respect and dignity of women“, he said in Spanish.
