Liverpool: Didi Hamann pushes Mohamed Salah toward a departure
The former Reds midfielder, Didi Hamann, believes that a separation, potentially toward the Saudi Pro League, could be beneficial for both Mohamed Salah and Liverpool, now facing a situation deemed too distracting at Anfield.

The former Liverpool midfielder, Didi Hamann, has urged Mohamed Salah to consider a move to the Saudi Pro League during the upcoming summer transfer window, arguing that the current situation is no longer ideal for either the player or the club. According to the former German international, the Egyptian winger has gradually become a source of distraction at Anfield, both for manager Arne Slot and for the dressing room. In remarks reported by Sportskeeda, Hamann spoke of a missed opportunity last summer. « Il had the opportunity to join Saudi Arabia last season and did not take it. I’m not sure he wants to go », he told BetGoat, via GOAL.
But for Hamann, a separation could now be necessary. “If you ask me for my opinion today, the best solution would be to part ways. It would probably be beneficial for him as well as for the team.”, he continued. The former Red also points to the handling of Salah’s dossier as a disruptive element. “There have also been poor performances without Salah. It would thus be unfair to attribute all the blame to him.”, he concluded.
