With Carlo Ancelotti set to depart and Xabi Alonso widely expected to take over, a new era is on the horizon for Los Blancos. But it appears Rodrygo has no intention of being part of it. According to Marca, the Brazilian winger feels sidelined in the squad hierarchy and is upset about broken promises regarding his role alongside compatriot Vinicius Jr.

The arrivals of Bellingham and Mbappé forced tactical adjustments this season, and as the campaign progressed, Ancelotti seemed to settle on a preferred attacking trio—Vinicius Jr, Bellingham, and Mbappé—leaving Rodrygo increasingly marginalized, especially in key matches.

Adding to his frustration, Mail Sports reports that Rodrygo boycotted last weekend’s Clásico, even though Ancelotti publicly attributed his absence to fitness issues.

Whether the incoming coach, Xabi Alonso, can persuade the disillusioned Brazilian to stay remains to be seen. For now, Rodrygo doesn’t feel valued in Madrid and appears determined to seek opportunities elsewhere.
