Cristiano Ronaldo: “The Saudi Pro League is superior to Ligue 1 and the Portuguese league”
Al-Nassr’s Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, praised the level of the Saudi league, which he considers superior to Ligue 1 and the Portuguese league, while defending his performances against critics.
Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the Saudi league has now overtaken French Ligue 1 and the Portuguese league. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Al Nassr’s captain defended the competitiveness of the Saudi league, often criticized for its standard of play.
« The Saudi league is much better than the Portuguese league, and also better than Ligue 1, because over there there is only PSG », he said. « Some say I score because I play in Saudi Arabia, but that’s an excuse. The numbers speak for themselves: even in my bad seasons I score at least 25 goals. »
Arriving at Al-Nassr in 2023, after the end of his stint with Manchester United, Ronaldo continues to assert his influence on and off the pitch.
