The text received 90 votes in favor and 19 against, sealing one of the most decisive votes of recent years.
The overnight adoption of the reform is already provoking strong reactions in public opinion and within the political class. Between concerns, support and questions, the country is now entering a new phase: the concrete implementation of the voted changes and their impact on the institutional architecture.
Apart from the institution of the Senate, which is drawing a lot of commentary, the new version of the Constitution changes the term from 5 years to 7 years, renewable once.
