The FIFA Club World Cup, held in the United States, has revealed its first matchups for the semi-finals.
After the quarter-finals played on Friday night into Saturday, Fluminense and Chelsea have secured their ticket to the semi-finals.
The Brazilian club kicked off by winning 2-1 against Al Hilal. Matheus Martinelli opened the scoring before Hércules sealed the win for his team, despite strong resistance from the Saudi club.
A few hours later, Chelsea also booked their ticket thanks to a victory with the same score against Palmeiras. Cole Palmer started the match for the Blues in the first half, before Estêvão equalized in the second half. A goal against his own net by Agustín Giay towards the end of the match secured the qualification for the London club.
Two more quarter-final matches are scheduled for this Saturday: Paris Saint-Germain will face off against Bayern Munich, while Borussia Dortmund will be pitted against Real Madrid.
