Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior announced that Enzo Fernández would not be selected for the club’s next two fixtures, following his recent comments about his future. The midfielder will thus miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale, scheduled for Saturday, as well as the Premier League clash with Manchester City the following weekend.

In a press conference, Rosenior explained: « I spoke with Enzo an hour ago. We have made a decision: he will not be available for tomorrow’s match nor for the one against Manchester City. » The English coach did not hide his disappointment: « It is regrettable that Enzo spoke in this manner. I have nothing negative to say about him, but a line has been crossed regarding our culture and what we want to build. » These tensions come after the Blues’ elimination from the UEFA Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain, in a context where Enzo Fernández had publicly hinted at an interest in Real Madrid.
