Champions League: four clubs already eliminated after Matchday 7
Following the matches played on Wednesday, Kairat Almaty, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal, and Slavia Prague are already mathematically eliminated from the race for qualification.

At least four clubs are already mathematically eliminated from the Champions League after the matches of the seventh matchday played on Wednesday. These are Kairat Almaty, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal, and Slavia Prague, all now out of the running for qualification to the next round.
For its first participation in the prestigious competition, Kairat Almaty has earned only one point, despite a standout performance in its victory over Celtic. For its part, Villarreal, despite being a former Champions League semi-finalist, is having a particularly disappointing European campaign, also ending with just one point to show.
Slavia Prague, with only three points, can no longer hope to reach the qualified spots, while Eintracht Frankfurt, on four points, is also condemned despite one last match to play. By way of comparison, at the same stage of the competition last season, nine clubs had already been definitively eliminated, illustrating a scenario this time tighter in the race for qualification.
