CAN 2025: Angola and Zimbabwe draw
Angola and Zimbabwe squared off this Friday in Marrakech, on the second matchday of Group B of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The two teams finished level at 1-1.
The second matchday of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations opened this Friday afternoon with a clash between Angola and Zimbabwe. Cornered after their misstep on the first day, both teams had to win to restart their competition. But at the final whistle, the two selections had to settle for a draw. Indeed, after a very closely contested duel, the Warriors and the Palancas Negras finished level at 1-1.
Everything had started well for the Angolans, who opened the scoring before the break through Gelson Dala (24th). But in stoppage time of the first half, Knowledge Musona equalized for Zimbabwe (45+6). The second half, which was very lively, did not affect the scoreboard, which remained unchanged until the final whistle. The Angolans and Zimbabweans will need to react on the third and final matchday to avoid exiting the competition prematurely.
