Benin: towards the creation of a consultation framework for former presidents of institutions

- Publicité-

Benin is preparing to set up a consultation framework bringing together the country’s former top officials. The initiative, spearheaded by former presidents Nicéphore D. Soglo and Boni Yayi, is also supported by Adrien Houngbédji, former president of the National Assembly.

The aim of the platform is to promote dialogue between these political figures, and to put their experience at the service of national issues. Far from being an electoral exercise, this think-tank aims to suggest ways of strengthening governance and institutional stability.

Although its establishment coincides with the approach of the 2026 general elections, the initiative is above all apolitical.

BIP Radio reports that the first meeting may be hosted by Nicéphore Soglo, paving the way for structured exchanges between these former leaders on the country’s future.
