Benin – Ligue 1 (Matchday 7): SOBEMAP solid leader, Loto-Popo and ASPAC in the mix
The 7th matchday of Benin’s Ligue 1, played over the weekend of 8 and 9 November 2025, once again lived up to expectations, with closely contested fixtures and a top of the table that remains tightly packed.

SUMMARY
SOBEMAP FC, the surprising leaders of the championship, were held to a draw (1-1) by Damissa but keep their top spot with 17 points. Les Buffles, beaten by ASPAC (3-1), missed the chance to reclaim first place and remain second with 16 points. Behind them, Loto-Popo won in a thriller against Bani Gansé (3-2) in Grand-Popo, confirming their return to form and moving onto the podium with 14 points. ASPAC, big winners over Les Buffles, are close behind with 13 points and a +6 goal difference.
In Porto-Novo, Dragons finally rediscovered the taste of victory by beating Espoir FC (1-0). AS Cotonou defeated Ayéma (2-0), a valuable win that moves the club up to 9th place with 9 points. Coton FC, travelling to Ouidah, drew with JS Pobè (1-1), while Hodio and USS-Kraké played out a 2-2 draw in Comè. Finally, the Cavaliers secured an important 2-1 victory over ASVO, who remain bottom with only 3 points.
