Transfer market: Naples’ president sent to trial in the Osimhen transfer case
The president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, will have to appear in 2026 to face suspicions of falsified accounts linked to the transfer of Victor Osimhen, whose value is alleged to have been artificially inflated.
The president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, will have to answer to the courts over his alleged involvement in the falsified accounts case related to Victor Osimhen’s 2020 transfer. According to Tuttosport, the amount of the deal, concluded with LOSC, was allegedly artificially inflated.
The arrival of the Nigerian international in Serie A included goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis as well as three Primavera players — Manzi, Palmieri and Liguori. According to the prosecution, the value of these young players was deliberately overvalued to clean up the Neapolitan club’s finances.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, his trusted associate Andrea Chiavelli, and Napoli itself have been sent to trial. The opening of the hearings is scheduled for 2 December 2026.
