“The Bible does not condemn oral sex” – Pastor Edgard Guidibi sparks online debate

Pastor Edgard Guidibi, a strategic advisor to leaders and couples, ignited a heated debate on social media on Thursday, April 24, 2025, after openly addressing the topic of sexual intimacy within Christian marriage.

In a widely shared Facebook post, the man of God declared that “God encourages oral sex and other mutually consensual pleasures within marriage.”

According to him, sexuality is not only for reproduction, but also for pleasure, intimacy, and the celebration of love. “Within marriage, anything done with love, respect, and mutual consent is honored in the Kingdom,” he wrote, referencing several Bible passages including 1 Corinthians 7:4, Proverbs 5, and the Song of Songs—which he interprets as divine invitations to joyful intimacy.

What the Bible truly forbids

Pastor Guidibi also issued a warning: while the Bible does not explicitly forbid practices like fellatio or cunnilingus, it clearly condemns violence, manipulation, and deceit. “The real sin isn’t shared pleasure, but coercion, impurity of heart, or the destructive influence of pornography,” he stated, criticizing the unrealistic portrayals of sex promoted by the adult industry.

For Edgard Guidibi, hypocritical religion has long stifled the healthy desires of married couples. “Many Christians live with frustrated intimacy, believing pleasure to be a demonic temptation, when in fact it is a sacred gift,” he wrote. “What God has blessed, let us not allow religion to curse,” he added in prayer. He also made clear that this sexual freedom is reserved exclusively for couples married before God.

The pastor’s statements have been praised by some for their boldness and insight, while shocking more conservative believers. But for him, the message is simple: “It wasn’t the devil who invented caresses—God created the body, the lips, and the garden.”

Moreover, his view on oral sex directly challenges that of Florent Eustache Hessou, who believes certain sexual practices can bring misfortune.
