Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has decided to set the record straight. The performer of “Calm Down” spoke out about the speculation regarding an alleged rift with Davido during an interview with Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez. The Nigerian singer categorically dismissed the idea of a conflict with the afrobeat star. When directly questioned about his relationships with other artists in the industry, he described the information circulating about him as mere rumors.
« These are just rumors. Oh my God, these are just rumors! From the beginning, I have never had any problems with the artists. I mean, I have immense respect for the pioneers », said Rema. The artist also emphasized his mindset and priorities. « I am not looking for trouble. I just want to make good music, I don’t want to fight », he added. With this statement, Rema dismisses the speculation surrounding a potential rivalry with Davido and asserts his desire to focus on his music career.
