The organizing committee reassures
Faced with rising speculation, Raul Rocha, president and owner of Miss Universe, spoke during the night to calm worries. From Bangkok, he announced on Instagram that he had visited Gabrielle Henry at her bedside to personally check her condition.
“I have just left the hospital where she is being treated,” he said. He specified that he had been accompanied by the Miss’s family. According to him, despite the apparent severity of the fall, the news is “reassuring.” “Fortunately, there are no fractures and she is in good hands. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night and we are staying in contact with her family to support them. We pray for her speedy recovery,” the president assured.
In recent weeks, Miss Universe has been shaken by several tensions including the removal of musician Omar Harfouch for “disrespect” in exchanges with Raul Rocha, the sudden departure of Claude Makélélé from the jury, and the affair that led to the dismissal of the director of the Miss Universe Thailand committee, after humiliating remarks toward Miss Mexico.
