Portugal’s coach, Roberto Martínez, has given reassuring news about his captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury. Absent from the squad named to face the United States and Mexico during the March international window, the Al-Nassr forward had been injured in February, during the 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League.
Asked after Portugal’s win over the United States on Tuesday, Roberto Martínez was reassuring about the health of the former Real Madrid player. According to him, Ronaldo’s injury is comparable to those of Rúben Dias and Nélson Semedo. « The injury to Cristiano is similar to those of Rúben Dias and Nélson Semedo. He is recovering well and this should not raise any doubts about his participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026, he said.
