Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, was ambitious, saying his team is equipped to play a leading role in the four competitions they’re involved in this season. Still in the Carabao Cup, the Champions League and the Premier League, the 2023 European champions will also enter the FA Cup at the third round in January.

Guardiola hasn’t forgotten the difficulties encountered last year, when injuries significantly hampered his squad’s momentum. This season, he hopes to be able to rely on an almost fully available squad when the most demanding period begins.

« If we manage to keep everyone healthy, we’ll be competitive in every match and in every competition », the Catalan coach told the press. « I have no doubt about that. Last season, we couldn’t even compete on all fronts. » Aware that physical setbacks are part of the game, Guardiola remains optimistic nonetheless: « Of course, there will be injuries over the course of the season. We are fully aware of that. »
