England: Thomas Partey charged with rape and sexual assault
Searching for a new club after his departure from Arsenal, Thomas Partey will also have to deal with a serious off-field problem, as the Ghanaian midfielder is accused of rape in England.

The former Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, faces serious legal charges. Free of any contract since his agreement with the Gunners expired this week, the 32-year-old Ghanaian international has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
According to the details provided by the British authorities, two of the rape charges relate to a first victim, three others target a second woman, while the sexual assault would involve a third complainant. The alleged incidents would have taken place between 2021 and 2022.
Thomas Partey is summoned to appear before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5th. But already, the Black Stars player “denies all the charges against him” and “looks forward to the opportunity to finally clear his name“, his lawyer said this Friday afternoon, quoted by the English press. “Given that a legal process is currently underway, my client is not in a position to make further comments“, explained Jenny Wiltshire.
